Ash Rehab is a CQC-registered Community Substance Misuse Service operating under a comprehensive clinical governance framework. Every detox programme is overseen by a named Registered Manager, medically supervised by a GMC-registered prescriber, and delivered by NMC-registered nurses.
Clinical governance is not a compliance exercise. It is the system of accountability and oversight that ensures every patient who comes to Ash Rehab receives safe, effective, and dignified care — every time.
Ash Rehab operates as a CQC-registered Community Substance Misuse Service under a governance framework that covers prescribing, nursing practice, safeguarding, GDPR, complaints, escalation, and clinical audit.
All prescribing decisions are made by a GMC-registered doctor with specific experience in alcohol dependence and detox medicine. No medication is initiated, continued, or changed without prescriber assessment and approval. Your prescribing doctor reviews your clinical assessment, writes your personalised detox regime, and remains clinically responsible for your programme from start to finish.
All nursing is delivered by NMC-registered nurses with experience in alcohol withdrawal management. Daily home visits include structured CIWA-Ar assessment (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment for Alcohol), vital signs monitoring, and direct clinical communication with the prescriber. Every clinical decision made during a nurse visit is documented and communicated to the responsible prescriber within the same working day.
Before every detox programme begins, the patient and their support person are given a written escalation plan. This sets out clearly and specifically the symptoms that require an emergency 999 call and those that require immediate contact with the Ash Rehab clinical team. The escalation pathway is never ambiguous — every clinician and every patient knows exactly who to call and when.
Ash Rehab has a published safeguarding policy for all patients, including those in vulnerable circumstances. Our named safeguarding lead is responsible for ensuring the policy is applied consistently and that any safeguarding concerns are managed in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) and the Care Act 2014. Concerns can be raised at office@ashrehab.com.

Blood pressure, oxygen saturation, withdrawal scoring — documented, reported to the prescriber, and reviewed. This is what CQC registration means in practice: not paperwork, but daily clinical accountability.
Begin your assessment
Your first assessment is a 25-minute video call with a GMC-registered prescriber. No waiting room, no clinic, no disclosure to anyone you have not chosen to tell. Four short questions, answered honestly, will tell us whether a home detox is the right setting for this moment in your life.
